After both the group stages and the quarter finals we are finally down to just 4 teams in this UEFA 2008 Euro championship: Russia, Spain, Germany and Turkey
At the start of this tournament there were a few teams that looked absolutely destined to reach the late stages of the 2008 Euro championship.
The Netherlands looked near unstoppable lead by forward superstar Ruud van Nistelrooy who left his mark on every single match of the tournament including in their loss to Russia in the quarterfinal. Before the Dutch took on the Russians in the quarterfinal they had everything working for them, especially their explosive offensive with players like Wesley Sneijder, Klaas- Jan Huntelaar and Robin Van Persie playing fantastic football. Unfortunately for the Dutch, their offensive wasn't able to produce the same amount of goals against the Russia who beat them 3-1 to advance to the semi-finals.

Portugal came into this Euro tournament with a very talented team with one bright shining star in Cristiano Ronaldo who is being referred to these days as simply the best footballer in the world, but Ronaldo didn't have enough to get his countries squad pass a more driven German team that beat the Portuguese convincingly 3-1 to move to the next round.
Who Will Get Knocked Out of the 2008 Euro Next?
Watch it Live! With both the Dutch and Portuguese out and the French and Italians starting to show their age the field has been set in my opinion for the Germans or Spanish to win this tournament. The Spanish have been pretty impressive throughout the tournament scoring 8 goals thus far and Germany have seemed to quietly get to the semifinals, but showed they can play with anyone after hammering Portugal with 3 goals.
Russia and Turkey have both snuck up on everyone in the 2008 Euro championship, no one could have predicted either one of these teams getting this far, but both had huge matches against top international squads in order to make it to the semis. I think they won't beat Germany or Spain, but the way this tournament is going you never know!
